JUN-B-4

Both Kim Riehle and Michael Eiffling were awarded the "Outstanding Medical Student" award of Emory and university of Colorado, respectively!  Jenna Beart had previously scored when she graduated last year, so we have defined the "pick of the litter" in our Dharamsala Mission!

Wonderful!
I am as excited as you are!  You knew well that you were a favorite of mine since I began as you are now doing‑‑and I hope you surpass us all!

I have just learned that the AAMC has a contest for the best student photo at a remote and exotic location‑‑‑so look them over and send in your best shot‑‑‑it cannot hurt to have another award‑‑this one for $500!  I will forward the note (and the totems) I had received and forwarded to my othe students from the previous Ladakh trek.

I am eager to hear about how you are doing and envy your view out at the Olympic mountains‑‑which you may see at sunrise a few times in the forthcoming years.  I hope you enjoy the "Roots" tour, and congratulations on the Emory Award!

Cheers for a great start on another Grand Adventure!

Greetings from Seattle!  After a terrifically fun graduation weekend and an almost‑as‑fun 2900 mile drive (in a moving truck with honda civic in tow), we have settled in here.  The puppy has adjusted, and our apartment has a gorgeous view of the olympic mountains.
I enjoyed reading your stories about the trip to Dharamsala ‑ it was fun to re‑live the experience again.  It already seems like so long ago!  I am envious of your upcoming return to India.  My next task will be to check out all of your photos on photoworks (and undoubtedly order some).  Thanks for putting them up there. On Sunday my mom, brother, and I are off to the homeland (Freisland), and when I return it will be to a whole new world ‑‑ internship!  I am SO excited to get started!
Until next time,

Kim Riehle
p.s. to play my mom for a moment: At graduation I (like Eifling) was named the outstanding student of my class by the faculty at Emory ‑ a genuine surprise and quite the honor for my family and I!  Crazy!
