Greetings Glenn,

I am happy to acquiesce to your petition for an extension to your Ph.D.

completion deadline (beyond the eight years mandated by CCAS policy) on

the condition that you adhere, strictly, to the time frame you

suggested.

Note that I will expect you to meet every one of the following

deadlines:

‑‑‑ September 30, 2002: Dissertation topic approval

‑‑‑ August 31, 2003: Draft of complete dissertation submitted to advisor

and Research Committee

‑‑‑ September 30, 2003: Revised draft distributed to Defense Committee

‑‑‑ October 31, 2003: Successful defense of dissertation

‑‑‑ November 30, 2003: Final, corrected, and approved version of

dissertation submitted to CCAS

Again, you will be expected to meet all five deadlines listed above,

which will require careful planning (in particular, you should make sure

that all the members of your Defense Committee are available to meet at

the appropriate time).

Let me know if you have any questions.
