Dear Linda:

Thanks for organizing this itinerary (see attached Oct‑A‑11) according to Alan Mellicor's suggestions for the Three Part Mindanoa Mission.

I have two questions, relating to departure dates and my PAL mileage credits.

I will be in Florida until late on Wednesday Jan 8.  It might be possible for me to fly back on the Jan. 8 evening (from JAX) and arrange my overnight here at home to pick up the extra supplies and outfittting surgical equipment.  In that case I might ask if you can start me off from DC (DCA, IAD, BWI round trip to either Gainesville, FL (my son's home) on or about the Dec. 30,  or 31 '02‑‑ or Jacksonville, and a return from Jacksonville, FL on the evening of Jan. 8 to make the DC pickup of my Philippine supplies in time for the Jan. 9 takeoff you have booked.  The alternative would be to try to fly out of DC on Friday Jan 10, but I know that I lose the dateline day and that I would want to fall in with the group as they arrive, but I believe that most of the MMI groups travel on Saturday as their itinerary states.

Could you please see about my PAL  frequent flyer number, which despite my having made the crossing roundtrip four times on PAL, they have me listed for NO accredited miles‑‑and I got no credit on any collaborating airline either.  My AA number is AAdvantge 6534538.

I am all for ticketing it right now, and would like to do so.  John Sutter (in the address box above) wanted to check to see if this would be the right time, since he was also eager to go with me to Malawi in Africa (see attached Oct‑A‑12) where we had been before together in Feb/Mar. '02, and was afraid he might not be able to do both.  I have encouraged him to choose the Mindanao mission, since he has already worked with me in Malawi, and this would be more of a senior medical student surgical rotation, but I am waiting to hear on that.

Could you go ahead and ticket me (with a check on my PAL number which Alan said he might check into to see how it has never come up as a credit on my account despite multiple round trips from LAX through Manila to GenSan City) and bill me through MMI?  I will have a large parcel of additonal baggage if I will be carrying donated medical supplies and surgical equipment as I have before, and perhaps I can get an extra baggage allowance for this volunteer effort.

I appreciate your help. This will allow Dr. Ragon to make plans for our brief extended visit, as promised, after the principle two sites of a week in Edwards (Tboli land) and a week in BBH at Malaybalay in Bukidnon with the group.

I will be out for the next ten days in Colorado incommunicado in the Rockies, and return for the 27th running of the  Marine Corps Marathon on 10/27.  There is a possibility of my going as early as the 28th on a two week trip to Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, and I am also out from Dec. 10‑‑17, (see Oct‑A‑2) so I had wanted to make all these arrangements now while I am at home before traveling to inconvenient places to be reaching me as well as to lock in the most favorable airfares.

I appreciate your help!
