Good to hear from you!  I was counting down to see if we were about near anniversary time!

When you ask "Do you stay in touch with any other transplant patients from 'our era?'" I would probably say ONLY from 'our era!'

I had previously described you and joe as the exception form the "Ninety and Nine."

I had gone to the wedding of George Franklin and Leslie Coleman‑‑both of whom I had transplanted twice.  As they had met in dialysis and the struggles through complications which were repaired, they knew each other well, and were married about twenty years ago‑‑which was about seven years after their last successful grafts‑‑"our era."  But I have not heard from them lately.

That makes YOURS the anniversary I most look forward to each year, and I know Joe has a long life ‑‑even if "warty"‑‑‑ahead, since he started over as a two year‑old‑‑making each of you about 29 by my calculation!

I have a series of domestic travels next week that begin in the Bull Run Run‑‑a Fifty+ Mile Race here in Manassas, then going through Gainesville, FL as visiting professor, then up to Long Island Hospital, and end this domestic trip in running the 107th Boston Marathon.

The following day I pack up all my medical supplies here at Derwood, about to be remodeled, and take off for a month of volunteer service, operating in Malawi, Southern Africa.

I will attach the events of this week, but the web page (http://home.gwu.edu/~gwg) should also contain the other events of the month.  If you are not careful, and if I can get your address, you will get a whole year full of events from the "Year End Review" just past!

Cheers!

Glenn,

This is only a MONTH late.  March 7 was Joe's 27th anniversary..... but my computer has been on the fritz for several weeks and I don't like to send personal emails from work.  We were thinking about you tho.

Once again we send our thanks for your wonderful talent.

Joe turned 71 on the 19th.  He's doing very well except for the hundreds of warts he gets.  He sees dermatologist every month and has MANY removed by freezing and by cutting.  His arms, face, head, back are a mass of scar tissue.  Many are malignant so he is very watchful.

Do you stay in touch with any other transplants from "our era"?

Warm Regards,

Joe, Barbara, Mike
