SPRING’S RELUCTANT RETURNS AS “LONG RUNS” RESUME

  1. Index  to the Mar-B-series of 2003
  2. The end of an annoying perseveration and the consistent return to life on the run as a very reluctant spring returns even before the big snow piles in Derwood have melted down on a bright cool weekend.
  3. The startling changes in scheduled events with the cancellation of one major race in the uncertainties of war and the measured outbreak of hostilities.
  4. The itineraries for my visits to Gainesville, Columbus, Ohio, Long Island, NY, and Boston for the 107th Marathon.
  5. A heavy rain and a washed out marathon introduces a quite different weekend, as the Bronco, the Samurai swords, and the “Phantom of the Derwood deer woods” are refurbished and return to Derwood after GW “Match Day:” then, comes, “Shock and Awe” over Baghdad.
  6.   A good early Sunday run with Joe, which reveals first beaver sign and tree damage along Rock Creek, with a surprise later finding of a large dead beaver: a later “packing party” in Derwood for the compatriot travelers to Malawi.
  7.   My salute to the Marine Corps Marathon—even more well run in view of the absconding of the DC Marathon organizer with the race and my entry fees.
  8. joe’s list of goals for his running program received after we boosted it with yesterday’s run.
