TENTATIVE PLANS FOR A FOUR VENUE TRIP

BY BRONCO ON A ONE-WAY TRIP

THROUGH UPSTATE NEW YORK, CHICAGO, MICHIGAN AND A RETURN BY AIR TO MARYLAND

WITH A LATER AIR RENDEZVOUS WITH THE RETURNING HUNTING GEAR AND PHOTO ALBUMS IN CUMBERLAND ISLAND

November 26, 2003

OK--I am getting closer!

The one thing I have for sure is to pack up the smoke pole front end loader!

Everything else is tentative!

My plan might be to drive the Bronco up to New York state about Dec. 18.  Then I might drive across to Chicago for Dec. 21, leaving on Dec. 22 to drive up to Michigan.  I could be there through Christmas and then return whenever I can get an air ticket to DCA.  This might work well with Milly getting a date for our get together, and after that I will plan a direct return.

I will carry many photo albums of the year 2003 if I am going up by vehicle, but could not carry them back by air (since, as you will see later, 2003 was a very big year!)  I can pack the edited year 2002 on a disc--which I could not open last year since I did not know where the files were stored in the computer!

If you could carry the smoke pole and photo albums to Cumberland, I would get them back from there--through the truck that Craig Schaefer and also Dale Kramer will be driving  (you will meet each of them) and they can return the hardware to Maryland.  Later by phone I will tell you how you can make the reservation to get from Fernandino Beach Florida (18 miles from JAX airport) on the MV Ferguson with Mitt Ferguson (grandson of the last Carnegie daughter) by calling the phone number for Greyfield Inn 904/261-6408

for Saturday or Sunday to come over to the Greyfield dock, where I will know you are coming and pick you up with the Ford Ranger and carry you to Nancy's Fancy.  You will park your vehicle at the dock for the Cumberland Island ferry next to the wheel barrow marked Greyfield inn.

I will give you one more phone number to try only in the event that my cell phone does not work or you have forgotten its number.  Liz Mc Comis is Nancy's Fancy caretaker and has a Fernandino Beach phone number 904/277-9782.  Through the courtesy of Keith Carr, all of this is possible, and as a last resort, his office phone is 202/778-1578, but contact with him would be to express our thanks, not to impose further requests for directions, etc--for that, keep trying me!

Now, for an earlier set of details.  I will be driving the Bronco and carrying its title.  I can "sell" it to you for a dollar, and take its Maryland plates AAL 684 off--or you can carry them with you to Cumberland.  You can register it and insure it effective January 1, 2004 since it will be insured by me through all of December through USAA under policy 1080926 until December 31  It is an Eddie Bauer special edition Bronco-II, a "designer truck," if you will.  It's VIN is FMCU14T3JUA74904.  For anti-theft security, all its glass is engraved and registered  as BC5AIA904.

I have simultaneously insured and registered the newly transplanted Audi A-4 Quattro 2.8 liter all wheel drive, but have kept its Iowa plates, 717 GDY, until the Maryland plates from the Bronco-II return.  You can tell from the luxury description of the A-4 sporty vehicle, whose car it really is, since a special edition Bronco-II with power windows that allow a peasant to spit tobacco from either side is a more fitting set of four wheel drive for me---but it will certainly man-handle Michigan winters of Belding well!

If this set of instructions and specifics is clear, I will start making plans, and hope to see you soon, both in Michigan and in Cumberland.  I hope you can make it to Cumberland early enough to enjoy the island as well as the wilderness hunt, and also the pleasure of meeting Virginia, who, I hope, will be able to fly down with me on Thursday evening, after the January 8 scheduled Derwood walk-through to take in the weekend on a deserted beach on a wilderness island National Park for which we may have the last private access.  You will be amazed at Nancy's Fancy and the Cumberland wilderness with palmettos and armadillos under hanging Spanish moss festooning ancient live oaks.

I am looking forward to both the winter holiday and the summer vacation, both coming up in the next month!

Cheers!

> Dear Glenn,  If you would like to drive to Michigan prior to
Christmas...I would suggest after December 12th....Muzzle Loader starts
Dec. 12th and I would like you to bring your smoke pole and match wits
with Drew and his mighty front stuffer....I could cart your gun down to
Cumberland as I will be driving down...I will not be able to do a round
about trip and see the doings at Derwood unfortunately at that time but
I would like to make plans to come back when all is finnished to spend
more time in your neck of the woods...now that we know which exit to
take without calling you on the cell phone...Were you planning on a
holiday get to gether with all the Geelhoed kin sometime in December
anyways?...you are more than welcome to spend some time with us here in
the Belding woods...we got lots o' beds and plenty of room...let me
know.  By the way.. I haven't had to raise my gun yet this
year...Nothing close enough to even throw lead at...ah well still got
more time..

Take Care..
