THE LONG WET TRIP FROM JENISON TO MAYVILLE,

AS THE PRECIPITATION TURNS OVERNGHT TO A HEAVY SNOW AS I PULL IN TO THE ELWELL’S HOMY KITCHEN

TO SWAP STORIES AND GOOD VIANDS IN THE

CELEBRATION OF “BOXING DAY”

December 26--28, 2005

The wet has become white!  I am in Mayville New York on the Boxing Day celebration that has been added to the tradition of the holiday season, and enjoying with the Elwell clan the bounties of the fields and forests from Montanna to Alaska and especially their back yard.  They awaited my arrival on Christams night, when I came through the exit 60 at Westfield and made the two left turns onto Plank Road and into theierdrive as the steady rain all the way along the Midwest followed me up.  Within an hour of my parking the Audi, the snow had continued where the rain had left off as the temperature p[assed from the 34* along the way to about high twenties, and a heavy five inches of white covered all things in the morning.
