HIGH (AND HOT) AS A KITE ON THE FOURTH OF JULY1
- Index to the Jul-A-series, beginning with the holiday weekend
- An unusual confluence of coincidences has me on a Somaliland diplomatic circuit in giving inspirational talks and encouragement to the Somali Diaspora; then, on the anniversary of packing up Derwood two years ago on moving out, I complete the “unboxing chores” fallen tree log stacking deck staining, and homeowner detail work on “settling in” during the Fourth of July weekend.
- Domestic Derwood details and diagnostic work-up of lumbar disability while making major purchases for filling in gaps in the household and yard with new furniture—just in time for the Hurican seasons leftover tropical rainstorms to drench them.
- Things are now happening on a rapid rush in fast forward in the previously lazy interval of the canceled Haiti medical mission: large purchases for home remodeling are expanded further, and the long-awaited visit to review the new game room of Bob and Mary Killet in Sykesville; then an early morning run of the Seneca Creek Greenway Trail; a pre-mission meeting with the Eritrean group, and then I do a DVD performance for Eurasian Expeditions in a visit to Derwood’s game room by George Sevich, and a proposed change of plans to include a Mid-Asian hunt before the Eritrean mission.
- Fast breaking news on a possibility for an Azerbajiani televised Tur hunt in July before diverting to Eritrea.
- Response to John Howe’s visit, and announcement of my forthcoming Azerbaijan Caucasian Mountain trip.
- New revised itineraries to merge the Asian and African travels into a continuous set of itineraries.
- Delivery of the new master bedroom suite from Hecht’s, I pre-pay Azerbaijani trip and scramble for further arrangements (still without passport or visas), a morning boat trip to fish out of the Magathy River into the Chesapeake, picking up surgical supplies for the mission from Crofton, MD, the Rockville Twilighter Run in a deluge, and further Eritrea trip preparations with pre-submission of ELDP papers in last minute pre-departure shuffle of commitments and tickets.
- Leo Murray reports from my former stomping grounds of Swaziland, Southern Africa.
