Dear  Glenn,

As a supporter of MAP International, I wanted to share with you some exciting news.

I am in New York with MAP International's Africa Director, Dr. Peter Okaalet.  On Thursday, he will receive an honor from TIME magazine as a "Global Health Hero" at the Global Health Summit.

I have had the pleasure of working with Peter for 10 years.  A humble Christian and tireless advocate for the impoverished, Dr. Okaalet's story is an inspiration for all of us concerned about global poverty.

Dr. Okaalet will speak before an audience of Bill Gates, Dr. Jeffrey Sachs, Dr. Paul Farmer, Pastor and Author Rick Warren, Ted Turner and Bono.

In preparing his remarks, Dr. Okaalet tells me he will issue a challenge to this prestigious gathering.  "We must empty our world of judgment and fill it with compassion and knowledge."

I also enthusiastically encourage you to pick up a copy of TIME magazine at your newsstand and read their coverage about the health challenges facing humanity. You can read more about why Dr. Okaalet was chosen for this honor in the November 7th issue entitled "How To Save A Life."

You can also find out more by tuning in to your local Public Broadcasting Station to view  "Rx for Survival." (http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/rxforsurvival/)     This series is being broadcast in conjunction with the Global Health Summit.  Thank you for your support of MAP and its work to save lives around the globe.

Sincerely,

Michael J. Nyenhuis
