PREPARATION FOR EXCHANGE OF PLAQUES AND MEDALS
FOR RECEPTION WITH THE RWANDAN PRESIDENT
AND DIGNITARIES

Subject: Re: Physicians for Peace engraved plaques for
Rwandan dignitaries
We consider it a WONDERFUL opportunity all around, for
the Rwanda Project, for Pastor Jupa, for the UMC, MAP, GWU, PFP, MVP for many
donors whose contributions and best wishes go with us, and most of all for our
team!
Many of the
Rwanda team members, even some who are not novices at this kind of experience,
have been reporting that they have been
thrilled into insomnia since the packing party made it all real to them‑‑this
is really going to happen! Since I have
cautioned them about predicting with precision any event in the chaotic
circumstances in which I regularly deal through long logistic lines into
poverty and illness generally, but most especially in Africa, however it goes,
we will do our best to see that it goes well!
They are all eager to (I hope only figuratively)
"break a leg!" knowing that this experience is not only one of
personal fulfillment and a group realization of dreams come true, but a
representation of hopes for many in establishing a sustainable partnership in which
the humanitarian benefit will be far more lasting than the plaques to be
presented at the highest levels.
I will relay to you what they are telling me, and from
all of us‑‑‑
PROUD TO SERVE THE HUMBLE
We will all return with "Gifts from the
Poor."
Thanks for the
opportunity,
"The Rwanda Team"

Hi Dr. Geelhoed,
I saw the message (below) from Rev. Jupa and wanted to
let you know how
thrilled Physicians for Peace is to have the
fortuitous opportunity to have
their team meet with the high ranking Rwandan
dignitaries. This is indeed
an honor and privilege and we would like to take
advantage of this great
opportunity. In
acknowledgement of these meetings, we are sending 4 (four)
specially engraved Physicians for Peace plaques (via
Stephen Katz) for you
to present during the ceremonies/visits.
1. one for the
President of Rwanda
2. one for the
Rwanda Official Minister of Health
3. one for the
highest ranking dignitary of the Millennium Village
Health Officials in Mayange
4. one as a
spare for another dignitary
Although the 2 videographers will no longer be in
Rwanda on the 15th to
document the occasion with the President of Rwanda
(they leave on the 12th)
Stephen Katz will fortunately be there to capture the
moment. We want to
thank you Dr. Geelhoed for representing Physicians for
Peace so ably, and
facilitating this wonderful opportunity.
Rev. Jupa, thank you for coordinating these efforts,
it is much appreciated.
Susan
