Can you remember being as happy as this? Perhaps watching someone like Andrew William enjoying life might bring that back to you. I do not know if it is the accumulation of cares, the defenses against disappointment, or the loss of the wonder of all the beautiful new things that surround us that we do not have the pure joy of the newborn discovering his place in the world and reveling in the love lavished upon him. I hope I may have been able to hold onto this infantile wonder a little longer than most, and if it should become jaded, here is a very good antidote to that ennui and angst.
