- Index to Nov-A-Series
- The Washington Post article reporting the results of my annual pre- and
post-Boston Marathon blood drawing results.
- My response to the alarm that "Running a Marathon may predispose to
heart attack" from my experience as a study participant in the article
cited .
- Allaying some fears from over-sensational reporting of highly qualified
results of data on running and inflammatory markers and enzymes.
- An exchange of correspondence that may be a rather typical sign of the
times.
- A new Maryland housewarming, unpacking, and new office bookshelf assembly-this
time in the cheery setting of Cambridge, MD.
- An initiative for a Medical Humanities Scholar Program at GWU from the
MTM Department, Human Sciences, and University Professors.
- In response to my identification with the Human Sciences Program, my thesis
advisor states he had thought I had abandoned the Ph.D.!
- I make contact with David Clay and Mike Magee, MD of Pfizer's Medical Humanities
Initiative and "Positive Profiles" for further pursuit of the Medical
Humanities Scholar Program at GWU.
- Suggestions on humanitarian follow-up on Assa goiter project from perspective
of cause and effect and my response with the essay of "The Lion, the
Pastor, and the Cretin".
- Long runs with Joe in our final prep on Veterans' Day for MITP, the Board
and Annual Meeting of the ISP, and preparing the dense schedules of the holidays
and "Travels-2002".
- An invitation to participation, outlining the medical missions of 2002.
- The events around, and the running of, the 2nd Annual Marathon-in-the-Parks
with Joe.
- I write a detailed generic response letter as a response to the deluge
of incoming requests from "wannabes" for the planned 2002 excursions,
trying to shift from "retail" individual responses to "wholesale"
clarification of the medical missions of the coming year .
