  2. The Washington Post article reporting the results of my annual pre- and post-Boston Marathon blood drawing results.
  3. My response to the alarm that "Running a Marathon may predispose to heart attack" from my experience as a study participant in the article cited .
  4. Allaying some fears from over-sensational reporting of highly qualified results of data on running and inflammatory markers and enzymes.
  5. An exchange of correspondence that may be a rather typical sign of the times.
  6. A new Maryland housewarming, unpacking, and new office bookshelf assembly-this time in the cheery setting of Cambridge, MD.
  7. An initiative for a Medical Humanities Scholar Program at GWU from the MTM Department, Human Sciences, and University Professors.
  8. In response to my identification with the Human Sciences Program, my thesis advisor states he had thought I had abandoned the Ph.D.!
  9. I make contact with David Clay and Mike Magee, MD of Pfizer's Medical Humanities Initiative and "Positive Profiles" for further pursuit of the Medical Humanities Scholar Program at GWU.
  10. Suggestions on humanitarian follow-up on Assa goiter project from perspective of cause and effect and my response with the essay of "The Lion, the Pastor, and the Cretin".
  11. Long runs with Joe in our final prep on Veterans' Day for MITP, the Board and Annual Meeting of the ISP, and preparing the dense schedules of the holidays and "Travels-2002".

  13. The events around, and the running of, the 2nd Annual Marathon-in-the-Parks with Joe.
  14. I write a detailed generic response letter as a response to the deluge of incoming requests from "wannabes" for the planned 2002 excursions, trying to shift from "retail" individual responses to "wholesale" clarification of the medical missions of the coming year .
