NOV-A-14

I WRITE A DETAILED GENERIC RESPONSE LETTER
AS A RESPONSE TO THE DELUGE OF INCOMING REQUESTS
FROM "WANNABES" FOR THE PLANNED 2002 EXCURSIONS,
TRYING TO SHIFT FROM "RETAIL" INDIVIDUAL RESPONSES
TO "WHOLESALE" CLARIFICATION OF THE
MEDICAL MISSIONS OF THE COMING YEAR

The rush is on!

And that has come only from word-of-mouth and only ONE medical school--the UCI, Irvine--with a program coming up at GWU and a release about to be published by IHMEC (International Health Medical Education Consortium) and by Global Health.

That means that without these "wholesale" distributions, I have already been tied up for a week in answering individual emails and requests for personalized information. I know I cannot do as much in the individual responses as I did last year for well over a thousand individual correspondence candidates, some of them coming back for more at least four to six times, and most of these will turn out not going, either because of schedule conflicts, inappropriateness for a medical mission on the part of adventure-seekers without a contribution to make, or cost.

That is why I have generated this detailed single generic response (attached). I am meeting on Friday with the computer guru to expand the capacity of the web site and update it to handle the requests for details on prior missions' reports.

You also recieved a copy of the "Torch" interview from Lane Community College, as well as the AAMC Reporter.

I have just given a presentation for the International Society for Panetics, an organization that seeks to reduce suffering inflicted world-wide (see attached.) I had done the program at UCHSC which generated several of the inquiries to which I had just responded, before I am switching from "retail" to "wholesale."

You may send this to inquirers who are clambering for "more information" since they seem to soak this up like the color travel brochures from cruise lines, even if they never climb on board, and I cannot invest the time in such futility.

I have sent a letter and visa application to Virginia. I have received a thank you note from Signi, who is now considering expanding her applications to DO schools.

I have two more local programs to do with a number of eager "wannabes." And, I am trying to pattern out the coming year's schedules so as not to run interference on several time frames that are given away twice, even if all of the posted itineraries do not occur.

Cheers!

GWG
