OCT-B-8

I HAVE RETURNED FROM THE HIMALAYAS,
THE ACS CLINICAL CONGRESS IN NEW ORLEANS,
AND THE HIGH, COOL, COLORADO ROCKIES--
BUT NOT A PLACE AS COOL AS THE
PRIOR ANTARCTIC SITE VISITED LAST FEBRUARY IS JUST NOW!
MEMORIES OF ANTARCTICA--HARDLY WARM AND COZY

Antarctica should be rather extra cozy now! Check out those temperature ranges if you feel a cool chill where you are!

RECENT RETURN FROM COLORADO ROCKY MOUNTAIN ELK HUNT

I am getting nostalgic after having slept on the frozen ground in the Rockies in elk camp!

COMPUTER REHAB WILL HAVE TO PRECEDE FORWARDING OF
TEXT DESCRIPTIONS OF THE RECENT ADVENTURE TRAVELS

I have had to await the resuscitation of one of the two computers--both out for the count while I have been away most of the summer and the unusual fall itineraries--, but the recent return has meant that I can try to resurrect the ailing desktop, and patch in my laptop until they are both up to speed. I will then send you the text version of the events that have recently transpired--but that will be preceded by a succinct and poignant trio of film rolls

THE MARATHON BLITZ IS ON!

Joe and I turned in a good Inaugural Baltimore Marathon on a perfect day, on Saturday, and now, in a two-for-one week special effort, I am on my way to pick up my number and kit for this weekend's Marine Corps Marathon 26th running! Look for that marathon series of marathons photo series in a fourth roll of film following the next three to be posted On-Line.

ON-LINE PHOTOS FORTHCOMING ON THE REMARKABLE MONTH
OF THE SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER SIX-VENUE ITINERARIES

Be on the lookout for a series of remarkable photos in three rolls on line to be forwarded from Photo Works. This sequence begins in the first roll with Kamchatka Siberia as I am wading across streams following the sheep and bear hunt, then helicoptering over Avache Volcano, and abruptly the next series is in epicenter of events: the impact of A/A 757 into the Pentagon on September 11 at 9:42 AM. I take the Adela Amtrak through the gap tooth skyline of still smoldering New York City to a closed Logan Airport, and then finally make it up to the Spiti Valley in the Himalayas (second roll)--just before the fireworks of nocturnal cruise missiles overflights.

FROM SERENITY TO THE SUBLIME

The third roll should start out serenely with Buddhist monks uttering their prayers for us in Dakar Monastery at the junction of the Spiti and Pin Valleys in Himachal, and ends in the unanticipated "stranding" in Houston on return, which had me renting the fastest car I could find and going directly to San Antonio to get acquainted with two squirming, smiling twin brothers who share the same last name with their Grandfather who has his arms full.

Coming soon to an email inbox near you!

Cheers!
