THE REVIVING OF MY LONDON SCHOOL OF HYGEINE

AND TROPICAL MEDICNE CONNECTIONS

Thanks, Julie!

Yes, you are right.  I was the Class Rep of 1990 DTM&H colleagues, many of whom I have met often in my trips aroudn the world. For that reason Anna Dennison had asked that I keep the alumni office inofrmed on what I have seen and encountered in my frequent encounters with the global helath problems and send a few stories and photos from time to time, along with my ususal "year-endl letter" summarizing the far-flung medical missions of each year.

I will send youthe note that I had put together for the itineraires of this coming year ("Welcome to the World of Wonders...") for potentail medical student applicants who are my "Wannabes."

I have just returned from Malawi, immediately following Mindanao, and the most recent photos sent in the prior email are the sudject of these ventures.

I will leave next month for Dharamsala and also return to Nepal for medical missions, and I will be four more times in Asian Himalaya before returing to the pacific and to Africa at the first of next year. It is a very rewarding effort, with a lot of adventure in it as well as the exhilaration of opening new windows on the world for students from all over.

I can add many texts to the pictures, but will do that only upon your request.

Thanks for your note to me!

I had written to you for a bow tie with the LSHTM logo on it to fulfill the request of one alum who had asked me if I knew where I could get one.

Dear Professor Geelhoed

I have received your e-mails and attachments but I am afraid that I do

not know why they have been sent.

Anna Dennison has now left the School and I assume that you had

contacted her about this matter.

I should be grateful for background information please.

I remember you from the 1990 DTM&H class, I think that you were the

class representative.  My name then was Julie Thompson and the 1990

class was the first group of students I ever admitted to the School.  I

started work here in January 1990 and have just moved from the Registry

to looking after the Alumni.

With best wishes

Julie
