MY LETTER TO NONIN, THANKING THEM FOR THE PULSE OXIMETERS WHICH HAVE BEEN DISTRIBUTED IN MISSION HOSPITALS

FOR LIFE-SAVING RESULTS IN THEIR EFFECTIVE USE

Dear Dr. Geelhoed,

Thank you for the correspondence and photo's. When you have time please

send me an updated listing of mission locations. I have saved a 8600

pulse oximeter for one of your trips. Please let me know which one you'd

prefer it for and when I should ship it. It is a table model and would

be best for surgical type procedures. Keep up the great work!

Best Regards,

Dear Wendy, and friends at Nonin:

You will not believe what your "just-in-time" arrival of the pulse

oximeters have done in what areas of the world!

I had the unit you had sent me before, as I was about to leave for

Mindanao, and you will shortly see the photographs of this unit very

well used in Bethel Baptist Hospital in Malaybalay Bukidnon,

Philippines.  I had forwarded a series of notes and a single roll of

film in the attachment, and then took off with the very brief stop at my

office only to pick up the new pulse oximeter you had sent and a big box

of surgical supplies I pre-packed for my trip to Malawi.

Your unit, which now resides in Embangweni Mission Station (and a number

of photographs of its use in strategic indications in the little

"theatre" there where I had trained the anesthetist and "surgeon" who

remain behind in their use, will be forthcoming) was undoubtedly

life-saving in at least three cases for which I can furnish details.

I am attaching herewith my notes about the Malawi experience, and a

photographic feast should be returning shortly from processing.

As you know from the ten more expeditions I have booked this year alone,

I can certainly well use the units you have been so generous as to give

for this purpose, and I can promise you the names, addresses and

photographic documentation of the use of each of these devices where I

have carefully placed them

Thank you so very much again!
