I have made it through waist‑high drifts,‑‑N0!‑‑not in the Himalayas, but in Derwood Maryland!

So, I am coming to Bailey's Crossroads, complete with photo albums and a couple of slide carrousels, so count on my being there‑‑along with a few students who are also coming along to get juiced up for my next attempt at earth's high places!

For another adventure "On High", see the attached story of the "High Altai!"

Cheers!

I had put a bulletin announcement in this week for an interesting talk at REI

by one of our members ‑‑ obviously no one has been able to get a bulletin, so

I thought I would send it out via email, for your interest.

Glenn Geelhoed will be presenting a clinic this Wednesday, Feb. 19 at 7:30

p.m.  The topic is "Adventures in Zanskar, Wilderness Medicine Trek."  Here's

a short description: Dr. Glenn Geelhoed leads the first medical mission trek

into the remote villages of the Zanskar Valley Wilderness in the Himalaya of

far northern India.  Lying between the Great Himalaya and the Ladakh Range,

this area remains untouched, despite massive preparations for war just to the

west along the "line of Control" between India and Pakistan.  For Glenn

Geelhoed, this is just the latest trip in a lifetime passion to take help to

wild places with much illness but few doctors.

REI is located on Carlin Springs Rd in Bailey's Crossroads, at the junction

of Rt 7 and Columbia Pike.  As we close at 9 pm, I can guarantee the talk

will conclude by then.  I don't know what the weather situation will be by

then, but I anticipate the talk will go on as scheduled, unless there are

other circumstances which prevent it.

I trust you all are safe and sound and enjoying the snow...
