this is good news my friend. and you can count on us to help. please tell dr

surena that- - he's a very fine man. dr raphael would simply assume that we'd

help.

let me make a proposal: you support good community based care for HIV

disease, and well get the meds and also help train the CWHs

dr leandre and loune are copied too.

we need to build more alliances like this to make things roll. our only

stipulated is that the MSPP be involved, and you're already doing that. i said as

much when i met with the missionaries from marmont . . .

bravo!

best

paul

During the recent Haitian medical mission, a remote part of the very poor Central province of Haiti was "adopted" by GWU medical students who intend to have a continuing participation in its Health Care screening and primary care.

Coordinators from the medical student side are Danielle M Foster and Julie Turig, and from the MPH side Bryan J Schaaf.

The next mission may be as early as December and repeated, possibly in May.  We will try to split it to 3/3 Med/MPH students for the first and no more than a dozen for the second, and some continuing care from outpatient to inpatient care may follow in the Cange Hospital of Paul Farmer as the relationship evolves.

I enclose, FYI, a proposal for this development for a student site for entry level health care students, in a population both close by and destitute  a "cheaper and closer Africa next door," within the same time zone.
