What a “class act!”
This is just one more feature that distinguishes the MCM---my very
first marathon ever---from all the other 82 I have run (if I am not counting
the seven Ultras!) I am runner number 309. an early registrant in the first as
well as second DC marathon, now canceled (see attached, Mar-B-4)
This year marks my TWENTIETH MCM—twenty years from my first, and I
am looking forward to carrying that badge with me along the course, replacing
my FIFTEENTH. I am a member of the MCM
Running Club, if not quite a “ground pounder” and know already that I will be
running the 28th, but I just wanted to respond to this characteristically
generous offer to the disappointed spring marathoners—I should also point out
that the same group first accepted, then bounced, my on-line registration out
of their inaugural Frederick marathon.
The Marines, in general, and
the MCM—in particular—DO IT RIGHT! I am proud of you!
