Great stories!  I will have to compare notes with the mighty Diana Aubs!

Let's see what we might be able to do regarding a HAUL, etc.  Would you need a couch and sofa, etc also, if any of that can fit?  If so, I may have to start squirreling away stuff!

I attach the recent happenings, which means that today, a Sky Crane arrives for the start on the big tree removals‑‑all of it on me, apparently!

I will also give the access to the Alaska hunt pictures for me and Aubs to have bragging rights together!

I am off to Sikkim, and will check on back!

Cheers!

Dear Glenn,

No..My sweet little Aubrey did not use something so crass as a 12

guage..she used her Grandpa Rottmans (Sherri's Step dad) youth, single

shot .410 shotgun circa 1952.   She had been practicing with this ancient

firearm for the past 3 weeks or so..she had gotten to the point where she

could put a group 2‑3 inches at 30 yards or so...the gun seemed to loose

alot going out any farther than that so we were hoping for a deer to come

in within 40 yards.

We had been in the "huntin' hut" for about an hour when I heard some deer

snortin on the far side of the pines..I whispered to Aubrey what I had

heard..she was right in the middle of watching a male and female Flikker

woodpecker chase ants 3 yards in front of her...she said she didn't hear

anything..I turned to watch to my right when Aubs grabbed my arm and said

" Daaad...deer..."  and there they were...70 yards infront of us..4

does..all looking to the East...I eased the Hammer back on her gun and had

here rest it on the padded window frame. The deer moved oput of sight to

our left.. I told Aubrey to aim at the salt lick we had out at 40 yards

because I felt they were going to circle back..sure enough here they

came..pop,pop,pop,pop, out came the 4 deer... I told aubs to aim at the

large on in front..however all of them were standing shoulder to shoulder

looking around and sniffing the air..we waited 15 mins. until the large

one stepped out into the cross roads of our golf cart/ horse trails, she

turned broad side and froze...I told Aubs to put it on her shoulder and

squeeze the trigger...POW went the .410,  jump went the large doe.  run,

run, run went all the others...we watched the hit doe run due south into

the pines..I radioed Drew what had happened and after a 20 minute wiat we

went out to find her deer.  The deer had run 70 yards and piled up dead on

the very edge of our property. After hanging and gutting we found the

slug..it had broke the right shoulder..hit both lungs..clipped the top of

the heart and stopped against the left rib cage...total distance from

muzzle to deer...33 yards..perfect distance..perfect shot..and by the

way...perfect tenderloin steaks last night on the grill.

As for Drew...he saw a total of 8 does and 2 bucks...none of the bucks

came within shotgun range however...he now must wait till nov. 15th.

And I would like to say that we would love to "recycle" the cabinets..I

just don't know how we would get them here..Do you think if you come with

the Bronco that I could pay for a U‑haul trailer to come along with you?

Let me know. Thanks

Take care

Tom, Sherri and crew.
