Thank you for your note!

You won't believe my re‑entry into Derwood!  I attach a note about the last days in Asmara and my return‑‑from which I am still reeking!

The experience in Eritrea was wonderful and I am grateful for the enthusiastic part you played in it!

Yes, we will get together as soon as I pick up the pics! I had gone to Ritz Camera and made CD's out of the digital images, and now will assemble the prints.

We will try to set up the "show and tell with Sherry ASAP, and you can let your classmates know that you can tell them all about "what I did on my summer vacation."

Cheers!

Dr. Geelhoed‑

Hello!  I hope that you made it back from Eritrea in one piece, and

that Derwood stood its ground without you home for about a month.  How

were the final days without me in Asmara?  I assume that the meeting

with the Minister of Health was interesting, I would love to hear all

about it.  Also, were there any other interesting cases?  How were all

of our post‑op patients recovering?

I have started (and am very close to completing) orientation at GW.  It

has been a few very exciting and exhausting days, with classes starting

for me officially on Wednesday morning.  I dropped your film off on the

3rd floor of Ross Hall on Thursday morning, so hopefully the prints

will be waiting for you tomorrow.  I wanted to see if we can find a

time (perhaps this weekend) to get together to recap the trip and make

a presentation.  Let me know when is good for you (if this weekend

works) and we can round‑up Sherry and put something together.

Also, thank you so much for such an amazing experience.  I expected the

trip to be enlightening and educational, but I never imagined how much

I could learn not only about medicine, but a different culture,

peoples, and myself in just 10 days.  You truly are an inspiring and

wonderful teacher, and I would be honored if I could attend another

mission (sometime soon!!) with you.

Talk to you soon!

‑Amy
