The MCM was my first‑ever race, let alone marathon, and that was twenty four MCM marathons ago‑‑the first time I had ever pinned on a number.

The thirtieth MCM will be a very special one for me, since it will not only be my twenty fifth MCM‑‑but I have timed it so as to coincide with another milestone.

After my first marathon in the MCM, I have run quite a few, in many interesting places.  I am a member of the Seven Continents Club, having run a marathon on all continents, including Antarctica.

When I went to the Czech Republic in May of this year, I was in classes and meetings, and was told‑‑"You will have one half day off, Sunday morning‑‑but you can go watch the Prague International Marathon."  Yeah, right!  So, I registered and ran the Prague marathon  May 22, 2005  making it my 99th!

So, with Prague as my 99th behind me, I now can arrive at the Iwo Jima Monument in October to run my "first ever race"‑‑this time as my silver anniversary MCM, and my centennary Marathon.

So, here comes MCM‑‑25 and Marathon‑‑100!
