SPRING BLOSSOMS ECLIPSED BY THE INTENSIVE COMPS WEEK FOR THE PASSAGE INTO ABD DOCTORAL STAGE

 

1. Index to the Apr-A-Series which includes the Cherry Blossoms and it Ten Mile run along with the intense week of ELDP Comps to pass into Qualified ABD Stage for doctorate
2. The arrival of spring heralded by Cherry Blossoms and the Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Race, but all of it eclipsed by the intensive monastic week of Comps Prep as I move into the Marriott Courtyard Dulles with my Comps team and we survive the Orals and Written Exams as spring begins to leaf out Derwood woods.
3. Invitation and instructions for our ELDP spring party to be held in Derwood .
4. GWUMC student presentation on Rwanda-06 and subsequent meeting with Louise Mushikawabo and sister in the Ronald Reagan Building Woodrow Wilson Center for International Scholars and the Africa Center on Rwanda .
5. Post-Rwanda presentation comments from participants.
6. Spring running, ELDP assignments, a flurry of Iowa stable activity, and planning for later summer activities after a May visit to Iowa and Florida .
7. An intriguing invitation to participate for a month-long Summer Institute in “Hard Problems” at West Point through MITRE, requiring a security clearance.
8. Two reactions to my proposal to teach students in third world settings.
9. By an amazing coincidence, the very instrument I have been looking for to use in my dissertation proposal may have been developed by one of my Toledo audience!
10. Tentative plans for a scenic route to Derwood for the cohort spring post-Comps party.with a Chesapeake theme.
