 HILTON-BASED VISITS AROUND SFO:

KEVIN BERGMAN AT SANTA ROSA IN NORTH BAY

AND A RENTAL CAR VISIT TO EAST BAY AND THE HARKENS OF WALNUT CREEK

January 31, 2006

I am arriving late on my second Monday January 30 to conclude the Philippine visits as well as the Jan-B-series, and beginning the two venue California series for a third week on the wing since my departure from the lonely Derwood.  I heard on the news that it has been the warmest January on record, so I presume that I do not have to worry about pipes freezing, but I also know from direct experience that a house does not keep well when mothballed and unattended.  It has been an interesting visit to the Philippines, however with both medical venues in Tiboli and Bukidnon and then a third base of operations in Manila and environs.  I will see Kevin Bergman, who had been with me in three foreign venues—his first in Ladakh, and then in both African visits to Malawi and to Somaliland, and will be giving lectures to his family medicine residency program to launch their own international track in that program.  But, for now, I will set my calendar back and my watch forward by 13 hours and prepare for US re-entry.
